Baba Seizando starts business as a personal seal shop

On November 5 in Showa 20 (1945), the founder, Yoshihiko Baba, put up his sign, "Baba Seizando", on his residence in Shimomaruko, in Ota ward. The war barely over, it was a humble start in a devastated land.

From individual owner to incorporation

In Showa 23 (1948), Baba Seizando, until then operated as an individual-run business, was registered as a corporation. It was a turning point, from personal seals to the printing business. And in 1950, the first automatic printing machine was introduced.

Constructed management strategy, "Take on the Challenge of Russian-Language Printing"

The major economic policy at the time was stimulation of export. Posters, catalogs, pamphlets, and similar items such as foreign-language print matter were the spearhead of that policy. Seiji Baba took on the challenge of trade with the Soviet Union, and as a result, won high praise as "Baba Seizando is the place to go for Russian-language printing".

Setting sail for offset printing

Japan entered a period of accelerated economic growth, and demand for high-grade, attractive color printing increased. Against such a period backdrop, we installed a Heidelberg A-half offset printing machine, the first offset printing machine introduced.

Construction of head offices building

In 1971, we moved ahead with a change to offset printing. We moved forward with changing our production capabilities to "cold type", and constructed our head offices building.

Shibuya Core established

In 1981, we expanded into Shibuya with a new location for sales personnel.

Shimomaruko Plant established and 5-color machine

In 1983, we established a new plant in Shimomaruko. A clean environment and 5-color offset machine were introduced. The total of three 5-color machines allowed us to pursue strict quality standards, with them becoming engines for satisfying customer wishes and improving our sales figures.

Tradition and the birth of new "SEZAX"

In 1987, as a culmination of our corporate identity, a new C.I. project started. In expression of the future vision we are progressing toward, our new company name "SEZAX CORPORATION" was born.

SEZAX Creative established

The design office went independent from the main printing unit as SEZAX Creative Y.K. Accompanying the rapid increase in manual work, the Manual Planning Department also set foot as a manual production division.

The outset of a new century. Management filled with anticipation

Akihiko Baba took up leadership as President and Representative Director on April 27, 2001.
The Development Department was also created, bringing the start of proprietary technology development.

SEZAX China established

To respond to the printing needs of customers who have expanded into China, SEZAX China was established in Hong Kong. Work started with main base of operations in Guangzhou, China.

New plant (binding plant, warehouse) built in Shimomaruko

A new plant consolidating binding, progress management, and warehousing was built on a lot adjacent to the Shimomaruko Plant. Together with the color printing plant, the new plant completed a start-to-finish system encompassing printing, binding, all the way to shipping.

SEZAX Document Solutions Co., Ltd. established

Manual Planning Department separated into independent entity accompanying growth of business. MPD made a new start as SEZAX Document Solutions Co., Ltd.
